Under NHS regulations, doctors can normally only dispense prescriptions for their patients who live in an area that has been determined as rural in character and 1.6 Kilometres by NHS England.
If you have received a letter from NHS England this week to inform you that Brannel Surgery will no longer be able to dispense your medication as you now live within 1.6 Kilometres of a straight line to a pharmacy, we can confirm that you will still be able to order your medication with us in the usual way.
For example, NHS App, SystmOnline, dropping your repeat prescription slip into the surgery or post, but you will need to inform us which pharmacy you wish to choose to collect your prescription from.
